Bio
Eddie Gonzalez is a passionate performer and educator from El Paso, Texas. Currently, he serves as a Virtual Teaching Artist for the University of North Texas College of Music and teaches private lessons at Flower Mound High School in Texas. Eddie also recently earned a spot on the Houston Symphony Tuba Substitute List, highlighting his versatility and dedication to excellence as a musician.

Eddie has cultivated a dynamic career that bridges performance and education. While pursuing his graduate studies at Oklahoma State University, he was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Tuba/Euphonium Studio and taught low brass methods. During his time in Oklahoma, he performed with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet and the Tulsa Opera. His artistry and commitment to his craft have also been recognized on national and international stages, with numerous competition accolades to his name.

In 2018, Eddie was named a finalist for the Mock Orchestral Tuba Audition at the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute. Since then, his competitive achievements have continued to grow, including being a finalist for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Fellowship (2022) and advancing to the semi-final round for the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra principal tuba position (2022). In 2023, he was named a semi-finalist (alternate) at the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium & Tuba Festival. In 2024, Eddie reached the finals of the U.S. Army "Pershing’s Own" Tuba and Euphonium Workshop Solo Competition, while also earning a second consecutive semi-finalist placement at the Leonard Falcone Festival. Most recently, he was invited to the semi-final round of the U.S. Army "Pershing’s Own" Concert Band Tuba Audition in Washington, D.C.

Eddie’s development as a musician has been guided by his primary instructors: Don Little, Matt Good, Jeff Baker, and Ryan Robinson. He continues to inspire students and audiences alike through his dedication to performance and education.
